Listen to Hov’s words of inspiration
Hov called his good friend Angie Martinez at the end of her debut broadcast on Power 105.1. Hov, who was poolside in the Hamptons, got jokes yo.
We got on the phone and Jay was like, ‘Yo, Jeezy, when I was writing the verse I had tears in my eyes man’, because it took him so far back to Marcy. Every bar in that song was real - I put my hand on the bible.
theluxuryaddict asked: Hey, I just wanted to say I was at ATL stop and it was EVERYTHING. Jay even stopped to say at one point "I like y'all, honestly." It was incredible.
The show is amazing, right? You were part of history yo. Werk it.
uncoveredbutterfly asked: Do you know why nobody ever speaks on the Jay Z and R. Kelly eras? the music wasn't bad and I know they had a major fallout after they went on tour together. Rarely do I ever hear Jay mention them albums when he talk about his discography and many Jay Z fans hardly ever show them two albums any love. What is your take on Best of Both Worlds and Unfinished Business as bodies of work did you like them or not?
That was a terrible era… R. Kelly was on another level then, and Hov has worked hard to distance himself from Kelly since. I like a few tracks on Best of Both Worlds, but Unfinished Business was just scraps. I hardly listen to those albums though. Sad times *Jay laugh
