“The room fell silent as the musician made his pitch. Jay Z explained what he and Tiafoe had in common: a poverty-stricken upbringing, a compelling personal narrative, and, most of all, prodigious talent. Jay Z encouraged Tiafoe to keep working hard and stay humble. Jay Z went on to explain that Roc Nation Sports doesn’t recruit just anyone; Tiafoe was special.”—Jay Z and his Roc Nation Sports group are currently trying their best to court up-and-coming US tennis star Francis Tiafoe to the team.
Yea I think it was all love frm Wayne. I think he really may love D'usse cause he also references it in his newest single Grindin' feat. Drake --> "Heard Jay-Z got a new Cognac, where to find that shit?" I'd too love to hear a new collab frm the two.
Truuuue. I guess I’m just always suss about Wayne’s intentions after his whole kidnap your baby mama thing. Too far bro!
Think it was just Wayne trying to give props to Hov. He has some banter at the beginning of the song about how D'Usse's got him sweating and asks Hov to fuck with him. I hope he makes the album. It would be interesting to hear the dynamic between them now. Also the whole kidnap your wifey thing was all in good fun. They seem to have a good understanding of each other as both people and artists
Hey dude, would you happen to know if the youtube clip of DMX and Jay battling is on a DVD? Also, is the girl Jay is holding at 0:44 one of his nieces? (Sorry - can't include links)
That clip is taken from Backstage, the documentary about the Roc-A-Fella ’Hard Knock Life Tour’. It is a really great film and well worth a watch if you have the time, it’s on DVD and streaming on Netflix.
why did lil wayne make a song called d'ussee? do you know the story behind that and do you know what jay thought of it? because wayne was talking crazy at one point saying that he was going to kidnap wifey!!
I didn’t even listen to that song lol, Lil Wayne is nowhere near my radar. Anyone else got the scoop?
Also another poster said you desevred a spot in Roc Nation.. Surely you do? You're the most tireless Jay-Z promoter.. Has anyone ever approached you about joining the staff? You'd be a huge asset surely
I’ve been in contact with the team, done some work for Life+Times. Hov approves of the blog - that’s all the appreciation I need. Shout out to all the fans and followers! You guys make it worthwhile.
Produced by The Neptunes and featuring Pharrell Williams, Fuck All Nite is a track found on Jay-Z’s seventh studio album The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse. It contains samples of Usher’s U Don’t Have to Call, Shaquille O’Neal’s You Can’t Stop the Reign, and Snoop Dogg’s Ain’t No Fun (If the Homies Can’t Have None).
